Please join us as we celebrate our donors at Heading Home’s annual dinner event. If you’d like to attend but are not currently a donor, please click here to donate.
The evening will feature amazing raffle prizes donated by local artists and businesses, a nationally-renowned speaker, and a celebratory meal — all themed around “home.” We will also provide an interactive opportunity to learn about the journey home for people experiencing homelessness.
The generous support of our donors makes it possible to serve those most in need in our community. We look forward to celebrating your investment in our mission.
For more than thirteen years Lloyd has been an advocate for those experiencing homelessness. In 2006, after retiring from leadership positions at Ford Motor Company and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lloyd went to work as the Director of Utah’s Homeless Task Force with the goal of functionally eliminating chronic homelessness in the state within ten years. Pendleton utilized the Housing First approach, which prioritizes those most in need into permanent supportive housing without barriers to entry. By 2016, Utah’s chronically homeless population fell from 1,932 to 168. Pendleton has since retired from state employment and currently consults with agencies and organizations on how to implement evidence-based, Housing First solutions.
Heading Home has been utilizing a Housing First approach since 2011 and we are thrilled to have Mr. Pendleton add testament to an approach that has been saving lives, saving money and making sense for years.
