Mr. LaFond is a Certified Fundraising Executive and has been raising money for more than 30 years. He has raised funds in Haiti for rural farmers, led an $18 million capital campaign as Vice President of the Metropolitan YMCA of Greater Richmond, Virginia, and most recently, raised more than $9 million in annual, major and planned gifts for the Episcopal Cathedral in Denver which increased its annual giving by 50% in four years under his leadership. Charles collaborated on a $10 million project funding a new building housing fifty families in permanent supportive housing. He so enjoyed that work, that he left the church to raise money for Heading Home.
Charles has been a monk and remains a priest within the Episcopal Church, having written two books on fundraising and two on the spiritual life as well a daily blog at TheDailySip.org.
Mr. LaFond moved from Denver to Albuquerque for its quality of life. He lives on a small farm in the South Valley with his dog where he is also a master potter.
