For the third year, Heading Home’s Holiday of Hope brought joy and good cheer to 40 of our families. We were able to provide presents for 183 family members. Besides the wonderful presents, we also received toiletries, blankets, gift cards, socks, hats and gloves, and cash donations. A very generous donor provided 60 gift cards of $50 for our families and Young Life provided 20 complete turkey dinners.
In addition, both shelters were decked out for the holidays and filled with much holiday cheer thanks to staff and volunteers! Our staff at the ABQ Winter Shelter made stockings and coordinated gifts for all 18 of the children staying at the shelter. Volunteers at our AOC campus put together gift bags of donated items for all of our residents. Heading Home is very grateful for our generous donors, our awesome volunteers, and dedicated staff, who made sure that no one was without a gift to unwrap! We especially want to thank KFT Housing Director Dorothee Otero for spearheading the Holiday of Hope effort.
