Heading Home was proud to stand in solidarity with members of the housing and homelessness services community at Barrett Foundation this morning.

Proposed FY18 federal budget cuts threaten the housing for over 1,000 NM families who would lose their Section 8 vouchers, Housing Authorities would lost $4.9 million to operate public housing and local communities would lose $22 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME dollars, which can be used to construct affordable housing for low and moderate income families.

Thanks to the New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness, Albuquerque Housing Authority, Barrett Foundation, Valencia Shelter Services, State Senator Bill O’Neill, and Diane Dolan who represented City Councilor Isaac Benton. Great to see Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless and so many of our partners there fighting for New Mexico’s most vulnerable citizens.
