Krista Luna

Emergency Housing Director, Westside Emergency Housing Center

 

Krista Luna is a native New Mexican. She was born in Albuquerque and attended Moriarty High School. Krista went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in applied management from Grand Canyon University and is currently working towards a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling focusing on trauma.

Krista is passionate about serving people experiencing homelessness in New Mexico. Before joining the Heading Home team Krista volunteered and worked her way up to executive director level for another local nonprofit that works to break cycles of poverty, addiction, and trauma. She also started her own nonprofit organization Krista is excited to run at the Westside Emergency Housing Center because she wants to make it a welcoming place where guests are treated with deliberate respect and compassion.

Krista has three awesome kids, a supportive husband, and an adorable dog named Maximus. In her spare time, Krista loves spending time with her family, hiking, river rafting, and being active at her church.
