Heading Home regularly posts job openings for positions at our downtown Annex location, the Albuquerque Opportunity Center, the Westside Emergency Housing Center, and the Lexington Hotel. We are currently hiring for the positions listed below and we post new opportunities regularly.

AOC Exit Planner / Program Manager

The AOC Exit Planner / Program Manager shall work for the Heading Home Albuquerque Opportunity Center Campus (AOC) and is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing new and existing programs and practices for the AOC’s Homeless Exit Planning (HEP) program. These include acting as liaison to other agencies, advocating, when necessary, on behalf of residents, and oversight of on-site resource centers among other programs and practices.

Gateway Center Phase I Program Director

The Gateway Center Phase I Program Director shall supervise and lead all shifts, ensuring the provision, implementation, and ongoing operation of all Gateway Center Phase I shelter program services.

Staff Accounting/Bookkeeper

The Staff Accountant performs the accounting and financial service functions for
various programs funded by grants, contracts, and special revenue streams. These
functions include preparing financial projections and budgets, actual v. budget
reporting, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance
with private, local, state, and federal fund requirements, billing and collections,
journal entries, and financial grant reporting including preparation of reports for
granting authorities and the district’s annual report.

AOC Custodians

AOC PRN SSA

Housing Case Manager

This case manager will work specifically with existing clients of the Albuquerque Heading Home initiative (AHH). The case manager will provide home visits/case management services for an average of 20 clients. Click here to view the job description.

SOAR Specialist

SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) is a model that helps individuals experiencing or at-risk for homelessness who have mental illness and/or a co-occurring substance use disorder or other medical impairments apply for Social Security disability benefits.

Respite Resident Assistant

Heading Home is accepting applications for a Respite Resident Assistant. The PRN Back-Up Shelter Staff member shall assist in creating and maintaining an emotionally and physically safe atmosphere. Respite Care Weekend Shift Manager

Social Services Assistant/CPSW

WEHC Housing Manager

Junior Software Developer

We are looking for an enthusiastic junior software developer to join our experienced software design team. You will report directly to the development director and assist with all functions of Javascript coding and design. Your primary focus will be to learn the codebase, gather user data, and respond to requests from senior developers.

Family Shelter Case Manager

The Case Manager is responsible for the case management services at the Family Shelter. The Family Shelter was established by the City of Albuquerque Department of Family and Community Services to reduce the density of the congregate shelter population at the WEHC and provide a non-congregate shelter option for homeless individuals most at risk of severe impacts if they contracted COVID-19 because of age or underlying medical conditions. The Family Shelter serves as a voluntary extension of the City’s emergency shelter program during the COVID-19 pandemic period as it continues to threaten public health.

Emergency Funds Case Manager

The Case Manager is responsible for managing the service provision of CABQ
Emergency Funds for community assistance. The Emergency Fund Assistance
Program is intended to aid people who are experiencing homeless, or precariously
housed, and need help to secure housing, or remain in housing.

Housing Administrative Assistant
