A dedicated anti-poverty advocate, Shahnit has spent the majority of his career supporting humanitarian efforts that aim to bring positive systemic change to impoverished populations. Before joining Heading Home in 2017, Shahnit raised funds for several human/civil rights organizations, led national political campaigns, organized community-based initiatives to pass socially progressive legislation, and honored his love for music by working as a touring musician.

The son of first-generation immigrants, Shahnit values his multicultural heritage and enjoys employing his diverse background and life experience in servitude of Heading Home’s mission. On his off-time, he enjoys voice acting, mentoring youth, and adventuring in the wilderness.
