For families working to rebuild after losing their home, the holidays can be one of the hardest times of the year. When you adopt a family, you give the gifts the children asked for, and you show a family in our programs that their community is behind them.
Why Adopt a Family
Each Christmas, we invite people in the community to adopt a family in one of Heading Home’s programs. Here is what your gifts mean.
The gifts come from the children’s own lists
Every family’s wish list comes from their children. You are not guessing. You are giving something a child asked for or needs.
It supports families doing hard work
Heading Home oversees subsidized housing programs for individuals and families, with case management focused on housing stability. A gift at the holidays says to those families that they are not forgotten while they build a steadier life.
It is simple to take part
Sign up, and we send you the family’s wish list and the date gifts are due. You do the shopping and the delivering. We handle the rest.
How it works

Sign up to adopt a family. It takes a minute, and you can browse through the available families. Choose one or we can match you with a family.

Get the wish list
We send you that family’s Christmas wish list, written by the kids.

Give the gifts
Buy the gifts and deliver them by December 12th.
