Housed neighbors, staff and volunteers gathered this week for our monthly Peer-to-Peer Luncheon with a special holiday twist. Our housed clients, who we call neighbors, shared stories of gratitude and encouragement with the group while volunteers prepared a holiday feast.
This year, Heading Home staff prepared tables for our neighbors that included decorative ornaments and other goodies for their homes. There was also a surplus of holiday items at our donation table, where neighbors get to choose items that help to make their house a warm and comforting home.
The wonderful folks from Harwood Art Center offered a craft workshop for our neighbors. The finished works will be featured in Harwood’s upcoming exhibit, “Finding Home.”
What a wonderful way to welcome the holiday season! Thank you to all our volunteers, staff and neighbors who work to make these luncheons an ongoing success.
