A new report that analyzes the initial outcomes of Heading Home’s street outreach program has been released and the results are very promising!

Thanks to the New Mexico Coalition to End Homelessness (NMCEH) for organizing homeless service providers in engaging their representatives at the 2019 legislative session. Annually, NMCEH leads volunteers and service providers in dialoguing with legislators about systemic needs for addressing homelessness statewide.

WEHC Gets Funding Extension

WEHC Gets Funding Extension

The Westside Emergency Housing Center (WEHC), which typically shuts down seasonally on March 15th, is now funded to operate through the end of June. Heading Home thanks Mayor Tim Keller and the City’s Department of Family and Community Services for pushing for operating funds as we work towards a sustainable year-round solution. We also thank the Albuquerque City Council for seeing the necessity of this funding and working in tandem with WEHC stakeholders.

Advocates Panel Discuss Film on Homelessness Service Providers

On January 22nd, a panel of local advocates, including Heading Home’s CEO Dennis Plummer, came together to discuss strategies for addressing homelessness in Albuquerque. The panel followed a screening of “The Advocates” film which chronicles the tireless work of Los Angeles outreach workers as they strive to make a dent in the city’s homelessness crisis.
